LearnPoint Integration
LearnPoint courses can issue TRUE certificates without an export
LearnPoint publishes an open API, which is what the connection uses. TRUE reads completed courses from it and issues each student a branded, blockchain secured diploma on your own domain, with a permanent link an employer can open. Nobody exports a list, and nothing changes in how your staff work.
TL;DR
LearnPoint documents a REST API with OAuth 2.0 access, which covers what a diploma needs: who completed which course and when. We set the connection up against your LearnPoint account, agree which courses should issue, and TRUE reads completions and issues from there. The diploma carries your design, sits on your own domain, and is written to blockchain at the moment of issue, so it can be checked years later without anybody contacting the school.
- The TRUE side is built. Issuing, the design, the verification page and the blockchain record are all in production. The work is the connection.
- Uses LearnPoint's own API. Access is granted with OAuth on your account, so you can see it and withdraw it.
- You choose what issues. Not every course should produce a diploma, and you decide which do.
How does the LearnPoint certificate integration work?
LearnPoint holds the course and the completion. TRUE reads what it needs through LearnPoint's documented API and issues from there. Your staff keep working in LearnPoint exactly as they do today, and no list is kept twice.
1
Set up access on your LearnPoint account
LearnPoint uses OAuth 2.0, so a client is created on your side and the access can be withdrawn there. We do this step with you.
2
Agree which courses issue
Not every course should produce a formal diploma. We go through your catalogue with you once and set the rule.
3
Diplomas issue themselves
Once it is running, a completed course produces a branded, blockchain secured diploma with a permanent verification link.
What does the diploma carry?
You decide what the diploma carries. Most issuers start with the student name, the course, your school and the date it was issued, written to blockchain at the moment of issue so it cannot be edited or backdated afterwards.
- Your document, your fields. Add what matters to you and leave out what does not. A certificate can run to several pages when there is more worth recording.
- Student name and course. Read from LearnPoint itself, so it matches your course records rather than a copy of them.
- Your organisation. The certificate is branded as yours and lives on your own domain.
- Date of issue, fixed. Written to blockchain at issuance, which is what makes backdating impossible.
- A permanent verification link. An employer confirms it by opening the link or scanning the QR code, without contacting you.
What has to be in place before it can be switched on?
Access to your LearnPoint account, a decision about which courses issue, and a diploma design. The access is one OAuth client, and the design is the only part that needs decisions from you.
- Access to your LearnPoint account, granted through OAuth from your side.
- The courses that should issue, agreed once so nothing starts issuing before you mean it to.
- A diploma design, built by us to your profile or adapted by you from an existing template.
What does a student receive?
A branded, animated certificate delivered by email, on your own domain rather than ours. It carries a QR code and a permanent verification URL, so anyone can confirm it without contacting you, and it goes onto a LinkedIn profile in one click.
- Animated and branded. An interactive page in your design rather than a static PDF.
- A shareable link. One URL that works in an email signature, a portfolio or a CV.
- QR code verification. An employer, a client or a regulator confirms the credential instantly. Anyone can run the same check at TRUE Verify.
- LinkedIn ready. Added to a LinkedIn profile in one click.
- Blockchain secured. It cannot be edited, forged or backdated after issue.
How is student data handled?
We read the student name, email address and the course details, which is what a diploma needs to exist. Access is granted through OAuth on your LearnPoint account, so you can see what has been granted and withdraw it in the same place.
TRUE is hosted in the EU, and we sign a data processing agreement with you before anything is switched on.
How much has TRUE issued for organisations like yours?
More than 900,000 documents for over 200 organisations in 15 or more countries, and credentials shared by their recipients have produced over 100 million marketing impressions.
500K+ Documents issued
200+ Organisations
15+ Countries
100M+ Marketing impressions
Is a LearnPoint course record on its own enough?
It proves the course was completed at your school, which is enough for your own records. What it cannot do is prove anything to an employer who has never heard of your student management system.
| Capability | The course record on its own | The record with TRUE connected |
|---|---|---|
| Proof outside your organisation | The reader has to take it on trust | A permanent verification link anyone can open |
| Tamper proof | No | Yes, written to blockchain at issue |
| Lives on your domain | No | Yes, branded on your own domain |
| LinkedIn shareable | A file to attach | One click add to LinkedIn |
| Effort per learner | Manual handling for anything formal | None once the connection is running |
| Who has to do the work | Somebody exports and sends | Nobody once the connection is running |
| Analytics | None | Views, shares and verifications tracked |
What do LearnPoint schools ask about this?
Mostly whether staff have to change anything, who grants the access and how often it runs. No, you do, and on a schedule agreed with you.
Do our staff have to work differently?
No. They keep working in LearnPoint exactly as they do today. The diploma is issued from what LearnPoint already records.
Who grants the access?
You do. LearnPoint uses OAuth 2.0, so a client is created on your account and can be withdrawn there whenever you want.
How quickly does a diploma arrive after a completion?
On a schedule agreed with you, because a school with one intake a year and one with rolling starts need different schedules.
Does every course issue a diploma?
Only the ones you choose. We agree the rule with you once, before anything goes live.
Do participants need a TRUE account?
No. The certificate arrives by email with a unique link. No login, no account and no app.
Can the certificate carry our own design?
Yes. We build the design to your graphic profile, or you adapt one from an existing template. The certificate is branded as yours and lives on your own domain.
Can we issue certificates for courses that already finished?
Yes. Earlier completions can be issued as a batch, so a backlog does not have to be handled by hand.
What does a recipient do with the certificate?
Share it. It is a link rather than a file, so it goes on a LinkedIn profile in one click and into an email signature or CV, and every share points back to a verification page carrying your name.
